Bidwell Park, Chico CA, Family Photographer: Tim, Megan + Little Carter

When the right people find you in a saturated industry it just makes you feel like you’ve won the lottery. 

There are many amazing photographers in the Butte county area and I was found by Tim’s mom.  Tim and his wife Megan live in Oregon and but they are both from Chico.  For Christmas Tim’s mother bought both he and his sister gift certificates for their family photos.

  Megan and I picked out a date earlier this year and we were fortunate to be met with beautiful weather.  Tim and Megan are so sweet and their little man was a bundle of fun.  For most toddlers the world is for adventure and there’s no telling what will happen in the next five minutes.  Having a toddler at home I am well aware of the independence and how we have to go with their flow and embrace their need for space.  We were able to focus on mom and dad while Carter was playing in the grass.  Eventually I won him over and was able to capture some cute individual images of him too.  

It is always refreshing to watch children experience the world differently than we do.  Carter stopped and watch the ants as they made their way in single file.  He found flowers in different shapes and colors, and watched the waterfall and was fascinated.  As adults forget to embrace or appreciate these everyday occurrences it is fun to watch children bring the adventure back to their parents. 

After exploring the park we started walking back to our cars where Megan and I chatted about kids and patience.  I had to credit my patience to my previous job, where it turns out I had the pleasure of working with her brother for a few years.  It always amazes me on how small the community of Chico and Paradise can be and just how fate finds its way to bringing us all together.  I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet and capture this little family.

This family is made of beautiful people.  Shawnte is a lifelong friend of my family’s and it’s so amazing to watch all her accomplishments over the years. She and her husband are high school sweethearts who built their foundation at a young age and just a few days ago they celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary.  Chris and Shawnte’s children are kind, polite, and with smiles that can light up a room. Shawnte I am so proud of you and the family you and Chris have created.  I appreciate the opportunity to capture these precious moments.

I am so happy to meet the Scott family. It was a simple shout out from Facebook that led to this beautiful session. I am so grateful to my clients who share the love and refer new clients to me especially with my returning back to the area.

Jamie told me before the session, “We haven’t had pictures since our wedding we’ll need help with posing”. She was being humble with their natural ability to move from one pose to the next. I was in Photographer heaven, we had a happy baby, parents that were natural and awesome, a gorgeous location with great light.

It was such a joy watching you explore during our session. You showed me the farm in so many new ways. Listening to you call the animals over to visit, and then mimic the sounds was such a blast. Hearing you name the different tractors and watching you play as if you were driving reminded me that life is to be enjoyed in the moment. Your sense of wonder and excitement was so refreshing and fun!

Watching a couple, become married, have their first child, and now about to welcome their second is such a blessing.  This is my FAVORITE part of my job.  It is watching love grow.  I am so honored to have the opportunity to work with families as they grow and change.  

Lauren and Jordon I am beyond excited for this next chapter of your life.  This little man is so lucky to have you as parents and Eloise as a big sister.  I cannot wait to meet him!  Just a few more weeks! 

Life is a Journey

Life is full of adventures.

Some exciting and new, others short and difficult with a lesson to learn.  I’ve been on an everchanging adventure new states, new people, new employment, new friends and new outlooks.  I haven’t had a prefect road without bumps and detours but with all of that I’m happy where I’m at. 

  Two weeks ago I was on a different employment path one with its challenges I was ready to overcome. One that I had plans to be on for a while.  Those plans changed.  Hard to accept at first.  Hurting and feeling like I’ve failed, doubt set in.  The last two weeks have been a little dark.  

However, my photography  business and my amazing clients have unknowingly shed light on my situation.  Giving me confidence that I was just being redirected to the right path.  The path I have CHOSEN.  

With my adventures, I’ve been brought home.  I have returned to Paradise CA and it is refreshing to be in a familiar area where I am comfortable.  With the clients I have watched grow from couples to families.  Children to teens watching time take its course and change everyone.  It’s truly a beautiful thing. 

 I am booking sessions, elopements, and weddings.

Little Riley Marie Rice

This beautiful lady was welcomed to the world January 16th, 2021. Weighing 8 lbs, 11 oz, and measuring 21 inches long. I am so honored to meet her and capture these images amidst everything going on. This little one is so loved by so many already. Emily and Garrett I am so excited to raise our little ones together and to watch them experience all of life’s joys. Congratulations again!

2020 That's a Wrap!

2020 has been a difficult year, it has been trying and pushing us to be resilient.  We have to be ever changing.  This year has not been easy, all have been challenged.  I’m happy to tie 2020 up  returning to northern California.

Sedona Arizona Photographer: Mr. & Mrs. Muranko 10 year anniversary

Lyndsay and Jared have been married for 10 years and they wanted to celebrate their anniversary with a photoshoot.  We drove up to Sedona to escape the 110+ heat here in the Phoenix area.  Sedona offers beautiful and unique landscape which I truly enjoyed experiencing for the first time myself.  This day was beautiful if a bit cloudy and rainy.  I am so honored to capture these images and share them for this awesome couple.

The Vandiver Family

Most know this lovely woman as their coffee lady, she started out that way for me too. (shout out to Shebrews coffee of Big Spring Texas) She has become a friend, someone I sit and chat with for an hour or two depending on if another customer pulls up behind me. She is truly a blessing in my life. Her family is her core, her husband, son and granddaughter are the most dear in her life. This was the first time I got to really meet the rest of her family and it’s very clear how much they love her too. I had such a great time capturing all the interactions and really capturing just how much little Chloe has them all wrapped around her finger. I had so much fun! I hope y’all did too.
